(UPDATE: 03/02/18 — 5:19 PM): The project has not yet launched but is currently in the development stages, a UNICEF Jamaica representative confirms.
According to a UNICEF Jamaica tweet, Jamaica "will be the first country in the Caribbean to launch U-Report".
U-Report, a program sponsored by UNICEF, is "free tool for community participation, designed to address issues that the population cares about." To join, all users need is a Twitter account, Viber account or Facebook account. Once you follow U-Report on Twitter, registration details will be DM'd and after the questions have been answered, you become a U-Reporter.
U-Reporters can discuss a range of issues ones that gender, health and emergency-related in Jamaica which can be accessed on the designated Jamaica page on the U-Report website.
